Audience Member While every movie should be reviewed, not every movie should be watched. This one should not. It is an interesting example of Blaxploitation since it attempts to mix Shaft and James Bond, but instead of producing a dynamic character and fun set pieces accompanied by an engaging funk soundtrack, it delivers a dull sequence of unimportant events. While David Broadnax is charismatic throughout the movie, it is a result of his own personality rather than any acting skills or ability to portray a character. Geoffrey Graves is certainly not ever going be an iconic character. If you're interested in Blaxploitation and want to see what French filmmakers did with the genre, it's worth viewing to compare with other films. If you watch b-movies for their quirkiness, absurdness, or silliness, this one will disappoint. It lacks any kind of sincerity or passion for the material and characters. The most fun part was the opening sequence that features a Mad Max style shootout, which had potential, but went nowhere. The rest of the film is a sequence of dull moments in the life of a dreary carbon copy character stuck in predictable conflicts. Even a lesbian antagonist couldn't add excitement to this boring collection of bland scenes. Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 02/15/23 Full Review Read all reviews
