This is an unimaginatively faithful remake that leaves the original intact, complete with songs co-written by Lin-Manuel Miranda. But the replacement of animated beings with live actors manages to ramp up the folkloric kitsch considerably.

Fun movie to watch with the family. The cast did an amazing job bringing this movie to life. I haven’t enjoyed a Disney live action since Cinderella and the Jungle Book.

The movie was pretty much a 1:1 of the animated version. Overall it was good and we did enjoy it but at the same time my wife and I didn't see a need for this version. Our daughter, who is 5, did enjoy and that was the most important thing to us.
