Audience Member This movie was very hard to watch at times, so parents; watch this with your teens, or watch it before so you know what kind of material is being shown. The ending of this film is ultimately a sad one, and there are a lot of intense events throughout, although this movie is meant to portray real-life stories that not always have happy endings. However, for anyone who has lived the "hood" life, this movie is very relatable and accurately depicts how a domino effect of catastrophic events can occur from an unhealthy home life. This movie also illustrates real-world problems females and minorities face (holding true to the title) such as catcalling, prejudice, rape, drug use, gangs, etc. The reason why I deem this movie only 3/5 stars is that it simply could've been directed better, the characters could've had more depth and individuality, and protagonists' pasts could've been better developed for a better understanding of how their life had gone downhill.
