      Audience Member A stunning history, crime and drama film, successfully replicating and substantially improving the German 1997 DocuDrama Todespiel and an excellent popcorn thriller. Mogadischu is fast paced, tense, energetic, suspenseful and in HD Technicolor. The hijacked Landshut 737's incredible journey flight (cross-country odyssey) through Rome, Larnaca, Bahrain, Dubai, Aden and Mogadishu will surely shock and thrill the audience. One of the best films in German cinema. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/18/23 Full Review Audience Member In 1977 a Lufthansa flight was hijacked by Palestinian extremists who demanded the release of imprisoned Red Army Fraction members by the German government. The terrorists took the plane to Somalia and started a long survival struggle for the passangers aboard the plane. "Mogadischu" is Roland Suso Richter's intense TV-movie depicting this struggle. The picture is an intence experience. It's told as a thriller but not in a tasteless manner, giving the center stage to human resourcefulness through well established characters. The feel here is of a documentary re-enactment, but there are enough creative achievements present to make "Mogadischu" a work of cinematic art. L'ambiance oppressante est bien rendue.
