Audience Member i liked how each person continued to live the lives they wanted but unfortunately the quirky and mostly insecure Cheng didn't have enough presence to raise the bar. Rated 2/5 Stars •  Rated 2 out of 5 stars 02/13/23 Full Review Audience Member A Chinese New Year movie filled with beautiful and magical cast, but with no trace of any Chinese New Year element in the movie. The story didn't manage to keep up to it's title and is really put to waste when they downplay the cooking portion and up-play the love stories by triple the ratio. As unbelievable as Sammi and Jerry Yan getting together was, Andy Lau playing the charming ex ruined it. Jerry never looked hotter than in this film, though. In fact, it followed the formula of most every Hong Kong romantic movie I've seen. I got what I wanted: a quirky, convoluted love story that centers around larger than life characters who somehow resist becoming charicatures. Not my favorite Sammi Cheng movie, but very enjoyable.
