Liam Lacey Globe and Mail Wonky, both in its fascination with policy, and in its eccentrically dry tone ... Rated: 2.5/4 Feb 21, 2014 Full Review Linda Barnard Toronto Star It all feels more suited to the classroom than a movie theatre when Schreiber details how raising interest rates slows economic activity, or how the Fed became "banker to the world." Rated: 2/4 Feb 20, 2014 Full Review Ricardo Baca Denver Post Money For Nothing lacks the rush of Rush, but you still might find your pulse racing and your blood boiling by the film's end. Rated: 2.5/4 Sep 27, 2013 Full Review Christopher Campbell Nonfics Possibly too appealing and accessible to be taken seriously enough for impact. But at least it's entertaining and informative to a degree for us layfolk. Rated: 3/5 May 30, 2014 Full Review Noah Gittell Washington City Paper As an introductory course in monetary policy, it works. This is an admirably wonky film, but its audience will likely be small; it's too simplistic for experts but too dry for the masses. Apr 16, 2014 Full Review Nathalie Atkinson National Post Money for Nothing: Inside the Federal Reserve is a well-informed, reasoned critique of the Fed, and its role as an enabler in the recent financial crises. Audience Member This is a very revealing documentary about the Fed's (and the other central banks like ECB, BOJ) role in creating all the bubbles, and honestly reveals that central planning doesn't seem to work at all. This falls in line with many economists (particularly free market Austrian economists) and it is to be believed that the way forward is by regulating the central banks themselves first so that they can't do the easy money policy. Otherwise, we will truly never get out of this Monetary Roach Motel as the economist Peter Schiff likes to say. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/09/23 Full Review s r A film that tries to stay balanced, but it still tilts. Informative. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 03/31/23 Full Review Audience Member 8/29/16 Netflix Informative as hell albeit a bit wonkish. Scary as hell if you heed to the warnings about down the road policy. Mad as hell at those who allow and encourage bubbles such as Alan Geenspan and greedy bankers and corrupt politicians and morally bankrupt regulatory agencies. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 01/12/23 Full Review Audience Member Informative. Short and sweet i know. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 02/18/23 Full Review Audience Member Great explanation of Federal Reserve, fiscal policy and Greed gone awry.... Rated 3 out of 5 stars 01/31/23 Full Review Audience Member historical review of the Fed from 1913 to 2013 ... blames the Fed as worst offender for current situation but w/o any attempt at evaluating economic theory or proposing any solutions ...
