IrateTyrant C TEXAS CHAINSAW eat your heart out I've always wanted to review this movie, and as the greats of post-2000 cinema such as this disappear from streaming platforms more and more, I think I'm going to take a stab at it today. This movie gives it up for the gore effects and that's what this genre needed. It borrows heavily from The Texas Chainsaw Massacre franchise, but that's okay. It also hearkens back to House of 1000 Corpses by Rob Zombie, but actually came out the same year as that overrated series. The scenes in the bar where there are a few dozen amputees was startlingly evocative for the movie, and although it really led to just car chases with a monster truck that was more like a Transformers bot, it drew a lot of chuckles from the sister and brother of the Monster Man maniac. The end where he's just a pile of blood and guts trying to still kill the heroes was really cool, with the tongue that still mocks them as they walked away. I thought this movie was great, and it would have been good to see more like it. This last year, we got a lot of new horror movies, many from Shudder, but for the days before the franchise movie studios took over, this was a real gem. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 04/29/23 Full Review Liam D Michael Davis (Eight Days a Week, Double Dragon) Road Thriller is a campy, over the top and the thrills you expect from a B Movie Rated 4 out of 5 stars 11/14/22 Full Review Audience Member this movie reminds me of a regular show cartoon network more and a horror and very cool comedy maybe the jokes and the mystery are very interesting Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 02/07/23 Full Review Audience Member Duel meets The Texas Chainsaw Massacre. The humour is occasionally forced and weak but it's energetic enough to never be boring. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 01/17/23 Full Review Audience Member It is so stupid that it is funny. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 02/25/23 Full Review Audience Member More comedy than horror. I will say this, for a movie that is about a monster in a monster truck, it's far better than you would expect. This is probably the best movie you can make about a killer driving around killing people with a monster truck. It's predictable, it's silly, it's cheesy, and it offers nothing new to the genre, but... IT'S ABOUT A MONSTER IN A MONSTER TRUCK! I would say this is the best monster in a monster truck movie I've ever seen by far. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 01/25/23 Full Review Read all reviews
