A fun '80s adventure with a slightly scary twist, The Monster Squad offers tween-friendly horror with just enough of a kick.

Squad's gleeful monster mash anticipates bloated CGI orgies like Van Helsing, which likely cost a hundred times as much, yet boasts a hundredth of Squad's scrappy, ramshackle charm. Go to Full Review

Sharper than a stake in it's genre references, The Monster Squad appeals to cinephile as well as teen sensibilities. Go to Full Review

Severed from the stories and atmosphere that first gave them birth, the monsters only get in each other's way and are rendered completely ineffective. Go to Full Review

The plotline was rather thin – a bunch of kids team up to take on all those classic movie monsters – but it was the execution of it that worked. Go to Full Review

Micah Y Oct 16 Great movie. Took me back to my childhood See more Mitch C @PrimetimeMitch 20h A huge childhood favourite which never fades in it's significance or quality. The innocence of kids' fantastical imaginations, their need for excitement through hope that the most mythical may exist is so relatable, especially when viewed at a young age. As an adult, it's a beautiful reminder of simpler times. It's the definitive love letter to Universal through wondrous reimaginings. Wolfman looks like an upgraded and more frightening version of the original, the Mummy and Frankenstein's monster are brought to life so to speak, Gill Man is probably the most stunning of all and Duncan Regehr as Dracula is vastly underrated in the timeline of the iconic depiction. It's just a joy, it oozes the 80s and looks just as good now as ever See more Farah R. @Farah 3d The Monster Squad is a type of film that just doesn’t get made anymore. It’s a fun goofy movie for tweens that goes far out in terms of believability, but is perfect for letting children’s imagination run wild. It’s by no means on par with Goonies or E.T., but it’s still pretty cool. See more Jorge M. @Gloomie-J Nov 19 Childhood favorite. I wrote my final paper for my film appreciation class on it. Absolute classic! See more Michael B. @Bragalicious Nov 13 Loved this movie growing up. Glad that people have come around to it.
