Taneshia N Great imaginative idea and great Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 07/24/24 Full Review Zach M Monsters, Inc. (2001) is a movie about your life. 1. There are these batteries. 2. The batteries contain energy. 3. The energy is from the screams of children. 4. The energy is extracted by monsters through the exploitation of the children’s fears. 5. The batteries power the world of monsters. 6. The monsters are actually scared of children too. 7. Children can enter the world of the monsters. 8. Children and monsters can be friends. 9. The world of the child and the monster can be integrated. When you are afraid, you are being exploited. This could be fear of someone dying, fear of you dying, fear of losing a job, fear of losing a friend, fear of abandonment, fear of poverty, fear of prison, fear of breaking rules, fear of disappointing your dad, fear of getting humiliated, or fear of going to school naked. We’ve all had that dream, right? Really it’s whatever thoughts paralyze you into a helpless state. I bet you can (but don’t want to) think of a few. These are not neutral thoughts. Fear is not a neutral emotion. You are litterally having life energy extracted out of you which is used to power your shadow world, as Carl Jung calls it. In the darkness, your shadow and the monsters within them grow stronger. Until you turn towards your fears, you not only will continue to be exploited, you have to be. It’s your lesson and your discipline. When you finally confront your fears, you will feel like you are going on an adventure into a sometimes scary unknown world where everything you once thought was terrifying is brought into light, focus and perspective. Once you see your fears face to face and experience them instead of running from them, it is impossible for them to exploit you anymore. You might even find the monsters friendly. In the end you will realize that the monster was just you trying to wake you up from the dream. So here’s some advice: Stop running. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 07/13/24 Full Review Jack N Pixar almost never misses in this time period. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 06/23/24 Full Review Audience Member Compared to everything else that Pixar has ever made, I think that this one is very special and unique. What if I told you that a movie is definitely good and legendary when people are making all sorts of memes from it? The way I got into this movie was the memes, mainly waternoose memes. All the characters in this movie are always one to remember, but Mike Wazowski might honestly be the GOAT. And really, why wouldn't he? And let's not forgot the famous James P Sullivan, and what better actor to play him than John Goodman, am I wrong? All the humor in this movie is absolutely unforgettable, and every single humor is the most prominent. But ine of the things that I noticed in this movie was that it's actually kind of dark. Because in the first place, all these monsters do is scare kids to make their energy for their homes. But then when the kids were harder to scare, Waternoose decided to make a machine that literally extracts their screams by force. And when you think about that, that's insane. But however, as Sulley realizes that Boo isn't toxic and saw that her laughing can make the electricity more powerful, that's when I felt good about it. Because I don't know what I'd do if I have a monster scaring the hell out of me every night. So that's why Sulley reopened Monsters Inc and made into a laughter. "Laugh powers the new heart of the new Monsters Inc. And it's also the right thing to do." - James P. Sullivan - 2021 Rated 5 out of 5 stars 06/21/24 Full Review Ryan B Towards the end of the Golden Era of Pixar Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 06/21/24 Full Review Chael B Still one of the best animated movies ever made.
