Walter K Very bad movie with some notable actors like David Janssen. It starts off okay but I guess the makers of the movie weren't sure whether we would could guess who the werewolf was so it shows us the hairy hand belonging to Andrew Rodanthe, who we already suspect is the beast. There is about as much tension leading up to the climax as watching carpets being cleaned. One of the ways the movie tries to build suspense is to keeping cutting back to an open door several times where nothing happens. The attempt at suspense didn't work. Worst of all is the ending. ***SPOILER****Louise, the main female lead, reads in a book that werewolves can be destroyed by fire or by bullets blessed by a priest. Her brother -- the werewolf -- breaks into the house and she escapes through a window and runs into to the barn. There she just happens to find a lantern on the ground n the middle of one of the horse stables. The Werewolf comes, she lights the lantern, throws into the loft where her brother is. He burns in the fire. We see it....but wait, maybe not! She runs back to the house and grabs a gun. The werewolf follows her and breaks into her bedroom. She shoots him once, twice, three times, and then he falls dead, changing back into his original form.Unfortunately, I don't recall the bullets being blessed. I don't think there was even a priest in the movie -- maybe I missed it when I went to the bathroom. No, I'd pass on this one for sure. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 01/25/25 Full Review Georgan G A made-for-television film short on plot, but with several stars. A truly silly werewolf plot. Another from the 50 Movie Pack Sci Fi Classics. Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 11/25/23 Full Review Todd C It's a surprisingly well-written movie with some good casting. It's always a pleasure to see Geoffery Lewis pop up in any film. There were some plot twists and turns that kept me guessing, which I like in any movie. It's a fun movie. Worth the watch. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 08/01/22 Full Review Audience Member Good acting and professional character directing. But... the transfer looks dated and feels like a made for tv program. Boring, specifically, lacks scare in the story and action in the scenes, weighing the film into mediocrity. Can't recommend watching for what it is supposed to be, but will pass the time. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 01/13/23 Full Review Audience Member 1970s made-for-TV movie about a series of grizzly murders in Louisiana, where the sheriff begins to suspect that the killings may be the work of a werewolf. Not terrible, but nothing worth going out of your way to watch. I think I mostly liked the 70s redneck exploitation feel of the film (i.e. "White Lightning" or "Walking Tall") and that was enough to make it worth watching for me. David Janssen and Barbara Rush were the only big name actors in the film, though you do also get Royal Dano and Geoffery Lewis. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 01/31/23 Full Review Audience Member mucho bla bla y poco hombre lobo. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 01/31/23 Full Review Read all reviews
