Audience Member Decent watch, probably won't watch again, but can recommend for a Bad Movie Night. I thought someone had beat Kevin Smith to making "Moose Jaws" so I jumped on this only to find out that it is more of a "Moose-a-taur" type movie. Still, a small town under siege by an evil monster-man is a pretty good basis for a low-budget horror movie. While you would think that the new deputy would be a great hero of the moment to rise to the occasion, he is an awkward addition to a far superior protagonist of someone who is portrayed as dismissable. Chantel Grover pretty much carries the movie, and I can't tell if it because of some very clever writing or if she's just that much of a better actor than everyone else. I went back and bought 5 more copies to give out to family members for Christmas. Very low budget movie with great scenery. Crazy actors, yet after living in Alaska for the last 7 years I have met characters even more crazy up here. An example is: in the movie, the mayor of Gangreen Gulch is a chicken. In Talkeetna Alaska they have had a cat for a mayor for many years. They had a lot of fun making the movie and you will have fun watching it. All the design elements are remarkably polished, easily on a par with my favorite campy cult classics. The script kept the zingers coming and the two leads brought enough heart to their performances to keep things grounded amid the chaos. The supporting cast of local characters and the detailed scene design warrant a second viewing to catch anything I may have missed. So much silly in such a beautiful place.
