Audience Member IDC DUMB DUMB DUMB x2 Rated 1 out of 5 stars 02/20/23 Full Review Audience Member No wonder the Ruskies are still today of such an incompatible mindset to our own, if *this* nonsensical nightmare is their childrenâ(TM)s fairy tale Christmas classic. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 01/30/23 Full Review Audience Member Morozko is a beautifully crafted Russian fantasy gem with atmosphere, despite stilted dialogue and an occasionally meandering plot. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 01/26/23 Full Review Audience Member The new MST3K Netflix original has been released and I decided to expose myself to some of the old episodes available for streaming on Hulu and Netflix (there is a different random selection on each platform). Whether it is Joel or Mike watching these awful movies with the bots I do not envy the torture they are put through. Their snarky comments add some entertainment value, but my ratings are based on the movie's quality itself and not the extra material broadcast from the satellite of love. Russian fairytale that has been known by many translated titles has some strange magical elements. The girl in the romantic lead must have been about 15 years old and is paired with a guy who is almost 10 years older. So there are some uncomfortable situations especially for American audiences, but it occasionally succeeds in providing the wonder expected from a fantasy tale. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 02/01/23 Full Review Audience Member Screwed up! From Battleship Potempkin to this to Night Watch, Russia is insane when it comes to films. I was happily delighted to see MST3K did it, but I had seen it without them earlier in life. BEAR HEAD!!!! Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 02/16/23 Full Review Audience Member I'll admit that when I first heard the title Jack Frost I was assuming it was a movie about Christmas in some way. I think American television has conditioned me into thinking that. However, it's not about that at all. Instead it's sort of like Cinderella, in a weird way. A young and pretty abused girl meets a handsome young man, they fall in love and they live happily ever after. That's it in a nutshell. The crazy stuff involves a witch, an overbearing mother (or stepmother, I'm not really sure), a bratty sister, a gutless but well-meaning father, Jack Frost (more like Santa Claus if you ask me), a gnome-like magician and a town full of dirty mindless folk. It's not a very good movie, but it's definitely trying to do something. It doesn't work, but it's trying. Thankfully the crew at Mystery Science Theater 3000 gave this a good riffing and made it much more entertaining. Worth a look I guess, but more to laugh at than anything else.
