Alas, since there aren’t any emotional stakes, the action scenes are about as interesting as seeing tomatoes being put through the food processor. Heart is what’s lacking. To the makers of this film, it’s just the organ that makes blood gush.

Urban is a charming / acerbic balm that soothes the self-serious issues that plagued the first one. While the plot is still gibberish and the dialogue is generally rudiementary at best, this sequel is actually how they should've led off the franchise.

I love MK and this is the best adaptation so far. I love the original 90s movie too. Im glad this one is better than the one that came out a couple years ago during Covid. Im excited to own this when it comes out in stores. I wanna play some MK now. My favorite characters are Johnny Cage and Kitana so it was amazing to see them as the main characters. You can tell a lot of love went into this movie. This is definitely for the hardcore fans. Cant wait to see this again!

Mortal Kombat 2 was exactly what every Mortal Kombat movie before it shouldve been. Nonstop action, brutal fatalities, hilarious one-liners, and enough fan service to make longtime fans grin at nearly every scene callback from 30+ years of MK history. The combo of Kano (Josh Lawson) and Johnny Cage (Karl Urban) absolutely stole the show. Their back-and-forth was flawless and had some of the biggest laughs in theater. The fatalities were satisfying, the characters were awesome, and the entire movie FINISHED HIM! / 5
