C.J. Prince Way Too Indie Giæver knows what to say. He just doesn't know how to work with his material to make a particularly good spin on something that's been touched on for ages. Rated: 6/10 Jun 7, 2019 Full Review Jorge Ayala Blanco El Universal A serene film that exposes and conflicts the miseries of inner life (enslaved and bounded) in counterpoint and contrast with the magnificence of the exterior life. Audience Member Guy with a mid life crisis decides to take a trip into the deep wilderness. The introspection while on this trip brings him back on point. Yes, that was exactly how the movie played out. Nothing more, nothing less. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 02/21/23 Full Review Audience Member A film where the director, Ole Giæver, does "everything" himself. He is taking up most of the screentime - most of the time all alone. Seems like a very personal film, even if interviews tell me that it ain't. It's about a man going into the near-city nature. So close to his roots, still so far away. He thinks a lot, and it seems to do him very good. A very relatable film. It's almost scary how much you can relate to it. Funny but also saddening, still inspiring in a way. Original as well. I dig that we are inside his head most of the film, we hear the thaughts of the lead. My first from the director. Cool that he also has made "Fjellet" as I bought a few years ago. "Into the Wild" and more recent "Wild" are naturally similiar films, but this stands out as a different film at the same time. It's very close to pushing the nine rating for me actually, but the shakey-cam scene ruins it. Also the last 15 minutes was not fittingly "me", and the "me" were very strong in this film. I don't know where the 8 million NOK ended up, though. It's not many people involved here. 8 out of 10 thaughts put on display. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 01/17/23 Full Review Audience Member Men's pre-midlife crisis anxiety. There were moments, but overall the narrative sounds very garrulous (by excessive monologue use), coarse, boring, cliched & shallow. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 02/04/23 Full Review Audience Member Beautiful movie. Wonderfully written! A must see Rated 4 out of 5 stars 02/26/23 Full Review Read all reviews
