Audience Member The character of Vincent Dooley moved seamlessly from youtube to film. The actors in this movie have all gone on to make amazing careers, a testament to this film. We can all relate to someone who has ideas. This character goes after them, to whatever ends. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/12/23 Full Review Audience Member This is a stupid movie. However, this is a hilariously stupid movie with great one liners. It is N.Dynamite-esk meets mockumentary with a splash of Ricky Gervia-The Office (English Version) type of embarrassment, where you sometimes don't know whether to feel terrible for the character or laugh really loud. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 02/01/23 Full Review Audience Member It wont be everyone's "cup of tea" but its a charming film. It needed a tighter edit in some places - some scenes are miked way beyond their limit. Shows that multi million budgets and "safe as milk" formulaic scripting can be out done by a few fresh ideas and a bit of imagination. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 01/19/23 Full Review Audience Member One of the better mockumentaries I've seen in a while. Andrew Bowser is spot on in both roles (Lead Actor/ Co-Director). You really have to see it to believe it. It dances to it's own beat, and I'm digging it. It has a unique style, if you want "Best in Show" watch that...but then come back and watch this anyway. (enough one liners? OK, sweet!) First off, understand that the attention to detail in this film is perfect. Even though the supporting cast is solid, and filled with familiar faces the film tends to stick close to Vincent (our lead) which lends to it's simulated "King of Kong" type approach of creating a film around one or two especially interesting characters rather then trying to tell the stories of everyone in the room. The film builds to, but does not hinge on it's grand finale. The rest of the film is so solid however that we almost don't concern ourselves with the big revel until it is finally upon us. Is the film predictable at times? Potentially, but only in the sense that if you're hoping to see a character hit a particular comedic beat, you likely won't be let down. Admittedly, it has moments where the shine fades, but only for seconds at a time, and only to aid in the emotional impact of the full package. The high point of this film delivers at it's climax, and in a surprising fashion (right up until the last minute). For that reason it easily made my collection for future enjoyment (re watching). It also happens to be the star of our "The Mother of invention" podcast episode: http://wewatchedamovie.tumblr.com/post/6845338974/we-watched-a-movie-the-mother-of-invention Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/26/23 Full Review Audience Member One of the better mockumentarys I've seen in a while.
