Mother of the Bride serves an oft-overlooked demographic and takes us to crystalline beaches before it ceremonially drowns in generic waters.

Robert Levin Newsday It's an hour-and-a-half that feels like a decade, so you're left desperately searching for something to end the misery. Rated: 0/4 May 21, 2024 Full Review Marah Eakin Chicago Reader Netflix’s newest rom-com is middling and mindless. May 13, 2024 Full Review Tim Robey Daily Telegraph (UK) The film's match-making subtlety, let's say, is some way short of Jane Austen level. Rated: 2/5 May 9, 2024 Full Review Dennis Schwartz Dennis Schwartz Movie Reviews A shallow escapist pic that I couldn't escape from until it ended. Rated: C- Aug 19, 2024 Full Review Eddie Harrison film-authority.com ...weary identikit romcom will probably generate the requisite clicks...fairly harmless, fairly inoffensive, remarkably bland fare, for couch potatoes who can’t be bothered watching an actual film, and that seems to be partly what Netflix cater for… Rated: 2/5 Aug 13, 2024 Full Review Susan Granger SSG Syndicate This flimsy, forgettable rom-com is populated by superficially 'pretty people' - bland, underdeveloped stereotypes - and each shallow, awkward scene is more predictable than the one preceding it. Wendy B I thought this was a really fun movie to watch. Light and easy and very enjoyable. Definitely recommended. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 11/09/24 Full Review Glenn L This movie basically promotes incest. Not a fan. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 09/23/24 Full Review Joel H Mother of the Bride starts off with an interesting premise, where the bride’s mother finds out that her daughter is marrying the son of her ex-boyfriend. However, it doesn’t really go anywhere after that. There are also a bunch of side stories that don’t really go anywhere and side characters that mostly stand on the sidelines. Brooke Shields, Benjamin Bratt, and Rachael Harris are good actors, but they’re not given much opportunity to show it off in this bland vanilla rom-com. While I didn’t hate Mother of the Bride, I don’t think that I would choose to walk down the aisle with this movie again. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 09/17/24 Full Review John R Decent Watch, haven't seen Brooke in awhile, thought Benjamin Bratt and Rachael Harris were great, made fun of the different generations, best part was it's a normal 90 min length! Rated 4 out of 5 stars 09/15/24 Full Review craig e Absolutely the worst of the worst, acting, script just absolute dross. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 08/27/24 Full Review BestBest 5 Watching this movie is a new torture method Rated 1 out of 5 stars 08/23/24 Full Review Read all reviews
