Mother of the Bride serves an oft-overlooked demographic and takes us to crystalline beaches before it ceremonially drowns in generic waters.

It's an hour-and-a-half that feels like a decade, so you're left desperately searching for something to end the misery. Go to Full Review

...weary identikit romcom will probably generate the requisite clicks...fairly harmless, fairly inoffensive, remarkably bland fare, for couch potatoes who can’t be bothered watching an actual film, and that seems to be partly what Netflix cater for… Go to Full Review

This flimsy, forgettable rom-com is populated by superficially 'pretty people' - bland, underdeveloped stereotypes - and each shallow, awkward scene is more predictable than the one preceding it. Go to Full Review

Debra R @RT60127938 Jul 1 Horrible movie. Two parents self centered for their own needs, ruins their children’s wedding with drama. They made Brooke Shields look terrible and her part was written poorly. Truly made Brooke look like an idiot the whole way through. See more Safety P @Safetypro Jul 1 Just finished watching "Mother of the Bride." Before continuing, caution: even though I’ll not reference actor names or character names, some readers may consider my critiques to be "spoilers." After 20 minutes, I was suspect of the quality this movie possessed. Even with that feeling, I painfully persevered till the end. Mother: globally recognized scientist, but very insecure. Bride to Be: child-like; too immature to wed, sold out wedding for product placement & scoring clicks on Web. Groom to Be: romantic, yet failing to see wholeness of marriage. Friend of Mother: cougar who would grab any breathing, mobile male or female. Father to Be: 60 year old believes they are 18; manipulative. Wedding Coordinator: believes they are Monarch of the World, disregarding the human part of a wedding. There are others, but they match the above in disconnect from growing up. There WAS 1 positive subject: photographer who knew what they were doing. A waste of 2 good actors. See more Drew C @drew.collins Apr 26 One of the worst and weirdest movies I've ever seen. It's so awkward and just doesn't work. Maybe a 10 year old kid would like it because they wouldn't understand what's going on. I'm showing this movie to my friends because it's so bad it's hilarious. Who thought this movie would be a good idea 😂 See more J F @RT85231765 Aug 23 This could have been a cute rom com even tho the stories been done a million times but Sheilds really let the part down. She couldn't convey her character well. Plus, her eyebrows are so harsh, I was distracted looking at them the entire movie! The role between mother n daughter wasn't sorted well either. The daughter was really unfair mom n we had no idea why? Or the mother of a bride telling her daughter she's marrying son of Satan before her wedding becauseof a relationshipshe had 30 years ago? What was that? Cameron Diaz or Julia Roberts woulda put this on a better journey. Daughter looked super young too which is fine but her outfits like a 16yo didnt help. Needs alot of help in this movie from writing to read actors to story telling. Pass. See more thiago s @Thiagostone Aug 5 Filme fraco, o roteiro é fraco, as cenas são fracas, a história é fraca, o elenco é fraco, e ninguém ajuda a melhorar o filme, os personagens são fracos, e o filme deveria ter cenas bem melhores e relevantes, para fazer o filme ser bom See more Lillith C @RT61802005 Aug 1 Weird plot about the single parents of the bride and groom still having feelings for eachother after twenty years. The father is insuferable to watch and the mother is gaslit by every other character into thinking she is wrong in an hour and a half of plot driven and manufactured conflict all resolved in less than half a minute of talking.
