Audience Member http://letterboxd.com/zbender/film/a-day-without-policemen/ Simon Yam plays a former officer who has to fight off a group of killers. And these group of killers are not hesitant to pull a trigger. God Damn! You would think they're robots. They rape and kill in the most malicious of ways, and all Yam wants to do is smoke a doobie (and daydream). The violence is at a constant. I kept losing track of the story. I didn't like Yam's character. He's very ineffective for an officer. There is some good fighting within the film. These ladies are way tougher than Simon's character (I didn't retain any names, which shows how much into it I got). One minute there's some martial arts in the mix, but then out of no where there's more flying elbows than at Summerslam. You can definitely see why this film got a CAT-III rating. Violence, titties, violence, rape, Violence, blood gushing, and I almost thought this would be the first film I'd see where they would actually hack a kid. Let's just say this film would definitely not be for the faint of heart. There's also some random odd shit happening. This is especially when our hero gets high. Let's just say he's got some odd fetishes (ok, actually to some of you it might be odd. I may just try some of that shit). If you really try to get story out of this you would have to pay utterly close attention. As for me, I basked in the glory of the screen. There is some good fight choreography and there is a good amount of violence to satisfy the gore hound. And a trashy movie can't go without nudity, which at times is competently shot. Off-putting though if sensitive to rape. I swear there were two scenes here dedicated to raping two different women, and they took their sweet time. Overall, the story was nothing gripping, but you really only need a cursery outline to somewhat enjoy what happens on screen. The whole movie's mayhem grew old on me after awhile. When present at times though this would probably be good background noise if you're a fucking degenerate.....Like me.
