Matthew Lickona San Diego Reader Credit goes to Heymann for both his presentation of Naharin's work (which might have been tedious and/or inaccessible for the uninitiated) and character (which might have been obscured by the maestro's presence and/or the figures he commands). Rated: 2/5 Apr 21, 2017 Full Review Andrea Gronvall Chicago Reader Naharin's style is both idiosyncratic and accessible, his movements both angular and supple, but above all his dances celebrate the body, built for the joy of motion. Mar 31, 2017 Full Review Kerry Lengel Arizona Republic Naharin's dances, amply illustrated from decades' worth of film, are visceral, emotional and sometimes shocking. Rated: 4/5 Mar 30, 2017 Full Review Steven Prokopy Third Coast Review Sometimes the smartest person in the room knows what they're talking about, and while you may grow frustrated with Naharin's methods, both his results and the film about him are tremendous. May 5, 2020 Full Review Rachel Brook One Room With A View Heymann may have omitted too much due to overestimating the public's knowledge of Naharin's career, yet Mr Gaga is always interesting, and at times deeply moving. Rated: 3/5 Apr 18, 2019 Full Review Rachel Gabrielle The Stranger (Seattle, WA) Although the film doesn't truly define Naharin's Gaga style of dance, it's still a fascinating look inside the life and mind of the reigning godfather of modern dance Aug 24, 2017 Full Review Read all reviews

Audience Member The greatest 01 hour: and 40 minutes of real footage!!!!!!!!!!!!! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/11/23 Full Review Audience Member This movie is visually brilliant with quite a good story. The audience was enraptured. The visual effects of the dancers held us spellbound. The movie shows the love Ohad Naharin has for dance, his motivation, and the courage it took to stay with his vision. The dance sequences with his wife are breathtaking. Mr. Naharin has influenced artistic dance in ways no one has or will for hundreds of years. Another example of the genius that arises out of the sufferings of Israel to effect the world. Ohad is rightfully a legend in the world of theater and dance, and this film captures his genius for all of us to share. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 01/19/23 Full Review Audience Member amazing jewish choreographer Ohad Naharin Rated 4 out of 5 stars 02/19/23 Full Review Audience Member Incredible dance footage and behind the scenes look at creating movement and letting go. LOVED it! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/05/23 Full Review kevin a This is a riveting detailing of the evolution of modern dance, truly modern dance from the dancer/choreographer Ohad Narahin. He was raised on a Kibbutz and got infected with a passion for dance by his grandmother and used it as a way to communicate with his autistic twin brother. After arriving in NYC he is accepted at Julliard as well as the most prestigious NY dancing company, including a spot with the legendary Martha Graham. The many many dancing segments are fascinating to watch and worth seeing the film for those elements alone. Please watch the trailer and I think you will be entranced as I was. Ballet, tap, polka, hip hop it is not. His is a thoroughly unique expression of the physicality, passion, dexterity and discipline that his dancing demands. This is unlike any other dance film or documentary you will see and it is very much worth seeing. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 03/30/23 Full Review Audience Member Wonderful film about a magical man.
