This was my first introduction to Dicken's "A Christmas Carol" back when I was a child in the 1960s. It remains my favorite. It has a stellar cast, and does a good job of combining the slapstick comedy of Mr. Magoo with the pathos of the Dickens story. It is structured as a stage play, so you get the silly behind-the scenes action interspersed with the straight on drama. I remember being scared of the Ghost of Christmas Yet to Come (in a good way!); the entire production was very moving. It's a musical and the songs are good, too. I think even someone who is seeing this for the first time would enjoy it.

I never watched this as a kid, but thankfully, I discovered this hidden gem, in time to sharit w/my kids! Great score! Songs will def stay with u... They really captured tha magic of "A Christmas Carol", and put it to music.

Classic animated Christmas Carol, with a wonderful musical score. Watched it every year until it was no longer shown on TV . Had to buy my own copy. Not to be missed if you're a fan of the Dickens Christmas story!!! Love it!!

This has not only been my favorite Christmas Carol from the day it came out, but it is also my favorite animated Christmas movie, but even more, it is my favorite Christmas movie altogether! The animation is done with great Mr. Magoo style, but the original music stands out above any other including The Wizard of Oz.
