Jake Wilson The Age (Australia) Stephane Robelin's Mr Stein Goes Online is Cyrano de Bergerac for the age of the internet, a traditional feelgood movie given a modern gloss. It's also a little discomforting, in ways that Robelin may not have entirely thought through. Rated: 2/5 Jul 4, 2018 Full Review James Croot Stuff.co.nz Recommended for those who like their comedy broad and their more mature cinematic characters brazen. Rated: 3.5/5 May 31, 2018 Full Review Tony Stamp Flicks (AU, NZ, UK) The film plays out like a weird riff on Cyrano De Bergerac, before turning into something much more morally queasy. Rated: 2/5 May 10, 2018 Full Review Uri Klein Haaretz The result is pleasant to watch, even if it leaves behind no powerful trace on the memory. Dec 22, 2017 Full Review Fernando Alvarez Clarín ... draws upon the advantages (and disadvantages) of technology to install themes such as old age, loneliness, love conquest and generational differences. Audience Member French fling is a fraudulent affair. The film lacked in research and plausibility. It is unimaginable that a modern intelligent woman would be so gullible to online impostors when meeting face to face. Even if upon discovering the lie of love, mistrust would have scarred her for life rather than resuming a relationship with the imposter. Furthermore, the film makers confused between the Japanese and Chinese culture by passing off a Japanese sex manual as Chinese. What an insult it was to the Asian culture. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 01/28/23 Full Review Audience Member Nice French comedy. Is hard to make sonething nice out of a comedy based on an old man who starts to surf on internet and, specifically, on date websites. Must to give credit to the director for the success.
