Audience Member Edward G. Robinson playing way, way against type as a mild-mannered schlub makes this little piece of WWII propaganda worth seeking out. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 02/09/23 Full Review Audience Member Edward G. Robinson plays an uncharacteristic meek, mild-mannered middle aged man in this WW2 patriotic film; who after leaving his book-keeping job of 15 years - begins to prepare to open a fix-it shop in his backyard (much to his wife's dismay) causing trouble between the two of them, but he is determined to do the work that makes him happy. He receives a call to duty notice in the mail though and finds himself drafted into the army, only to find that there too they want to put him behind a desk and he must fight not only to do the work he likes the best, but for his country as well. It's a little hoaky, yes..but I found it really very enjoyable to see Edward G. Robinson in this role that was very different from many of his others. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 02/12/23 Full Review Audience Member Delightful film with an excellent Edward G Robinson performance, as always. Well written and a good story. Worth watching just to see Robinson. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 01/30/23 Full Review Read all reviews Post a rating
