I can only describe Mulan as a visually spectacular disappointment. Void of any emotional resonance, the film eschews coherent storytelling for what amounts to an Orientalist war epic masquerading as a feminist win for Asians everywhere.

Why even make a movie called Mulan if it looks nothing like the original. No Mushu, no like a man song because oh no it is about a man. That was what the original story was about, acting like a man to fight the war for her dad. Now the movie just does not make sense, just like the excistense of Disney.

This movie is an affront to the gods, if thou think this movie belongs in the upper echelons of film, thou art insane, utterly manic. I would rather grab the chow mein from my pantry and bash my “special parts” than watch another second of this movie. I am watching this as of writing, may god help me before I do any other irreversible damage to my body.

One of the most underrated movies ever. The story is not new, but the movie is epic, triumphal, glorious and emotional. The outdoor scenes are simply stunning. It's full of good feelings and likely it's too disruptive to be fashionable today
