I can only describe Mulan as a visually spectacular disappointment. Void of any emotional resonance, the film eschews coherent storytelling for what amounts to an Orientalist war epic masquerading as a feminist win for Asians everywhere.

It also does not help that Li is a legendary, iconic actor, and Yifei Liu, who plays Mulan, is not the best actor. She is not bad, but she is a wee bit wooden.

MULAN is a film best described as an "if only" production. If only the script had the input from actual Chinese people. If only it didn’t treat the culture, history, and mythology like a cheap prop.

Even though Niki Caro delivers the realistic, distinct take that was promised, its execution feels inferior to the original animated film in every single way. The 1998’s movie is far more epic and cinematic than its remake.

This show SUCKS. Disney did horrible with this one i couldn’t even finish the movie. Where’s mushu? Why does mulan have zero emotion the whole movie? Where the hell is Shang???

This movie had some moments as well as some interesting additions, yet fails with how dull and boring most of the time. If I have one word to talk about this movie, it would be that it tried too hard to be serious while trying to be the animated film back in 1997 or the Ballad of Mulan. Would I watch this movie again? No. It does have a small fanbase, and I won't yuck their yum. For me, no thanks. I am going to give this 2020 version of Mulan three pheonix in the sky out of ten. 3/10.

I despised this. The story line is completely gone from the original, and the editing and effects were horrid and Mushu disappeared, so no humour and no storyline for HIM as well. It's soulless

Everyone has pretty much said it already. ABSOLUTE CRAP! No humor, no Mushu, no songs, and Mulan is so boring in this. The actress who plays her shows ZERO emotion. Do not recommend.
