Anupama Chopra Film Companion A worthy addition to the Stree universe! Jul 15, 2024 Full Review Shubhra Gupta The Indian Express Dinesh Vijan’s latest horror-comedy is neither scary nor funny. Rated: 2/5 Jun 7, 2024 Full Review Sukanya Verma Rediff.com It's the nervous comedy of out-of-depth characters tossed in a supernatural rumpus that draws us inside Munjya's small-scale boos and threats. Rated: 2.5/5 Jun 10, 2024 Full Review Ganesh Aaglave Firstpost Munjya is a theatrical experience and deserves a watch for its novelty and authenticity. Rated: 3.5/5 Jun 7, 2024 Full Review Devesh Sharma Filmfare Watch Munjya for its twisted blend of horror and comedy, as well as the inspired acting displayed by the entire ensemble cast. Rated: 3.5/5 Jun 7, 2024 Full Review Nandini Ramnath Scroll.in The 123-minute movie is as wispy as a ghost story told to pass the time during a summer vacation. Nikhil K "Munjya," a film rooted in Maharashtrian culture, offers an accessible experience for non-Maharashtrian viewers but falls short in several areas: Pacing: Starts strong but quickly loses steam. Narrative: Disjointed scenes lack coherence. Comedy: Attempts at humor miss the mark. Scares: Relies heavily on jump scares. Script: Weak writing undermines the overall experience. Lead Actress: Underutilized until the final dance number. VFX: Bad While "Munjya" provides some cultural insights, its structural weaknesses and mediocre execution make it a one-time watch at best. The film's attempt to balance regional flavor with broad appeal is noteworthy, but it's not enough to overcome its shortcomings in script and character development. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 10/18/24 Full Review Mohan P kabaada film, useless VFX, lacks a sense of plot and seems dragged throughout. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 10/13/24 Full Review Namgyal B Pathetic movie only increased my blood pressure. Munjya character was good but the story line was pathetic. Some funny scene was good rest were just over acting and bad script. How can you be so slow even at a do or die situation. Plz don't make such movies. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 10/08/24 Full Review Jithin K There were a few things in the movie that made it feel fresh for a Bollywood movie in the sense, that it didn't go for the cliches of Bollywood and tried to be true to the story a little bit. But that's really such a low bar. The horror comedy of the last half an hour also worked for me. But for the rest of the movie, it kinda felt like a chore to sit through. The titular Munjya wasn't horrific or comedic but just annoying. Considering the actual folklore considering them as nuisances that just throw stones and things like that, it may be a bit intentional but it didn't really work for me. The main cast, that is the guy and girl, and his mom being good on eyes really helped me complete the movie. I don't know why this movie is included in the Maddock horror comedy universe. The post-credit scene doesn't really make much sense in connecting the films and they showed the same scene in Stree 2 too. But I'm still looking forward to what they do with this movie universe. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 09/04/24 Full Review Sanjeev N Overhyped. Garbage. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 09/01/24 Full Review Kushal K Felt like a over-hyped movie. Acting of each characters were to the point but an average story line dulled the expectations. Overall would give it 3 out of 5. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 08/31/24 Full Review Read all reviews
