Jolson sang, Barrymore spoke, Garbo laughed, and now Kermit the Frog rides a bicycle... If you can figure out how they were able to show Kermit pedaling across the screen, then you are less a romantic than I am: I prefer to believe he did it himself. Go to Full Review

With his Muppets, Henson found a balance between fuzzy post-hippie positivism and self-deprecating wit, and he added in the same quality that made many of the era's cultural phenomena so charming: simple problem-solving. Go to Full Review

The transition from the yank-'em-off-if-they-bomb lunacy of the TV show to the coherent narration of the film is not a complete success. Go to Full Review

As expected, Fozzie the Bear and the old geezers Statler and Waldorf receive the lion's share of the choice lines. Go to Full Review

The Muppet Movie changed cinema forever and much like "Rainbow Connection," the iconic classic remains fun for the whole family. Go to Full Review

... this charming musical adventure riffs on movie clichés and conventions with a playfully self-aware spirit. Go to Full Review

Jul 14 The Muppets are a cornerstone of puppetry and children’s entertainment. The 1979 film will always be the most magical and all the muppet films for this reason: it’s for the dreamers. The doers. It teaches you to go after what you want and cherish the people you meet on your journey. Don’t forget the power of belief and make-believe. Lead with your imagination and you’ll do wonders. If a frog can do it so can you See more 12/15/2024 I hadn't seen this movie in years. It is still such a great film. I love the muppets See more Kevin P Dec 14 A fantastic origin story for the Muppets that shows how they all met. It's a fun road trip movie packed with so many great gags, 4th wall breaks, and celebrity cameos. The soundtrack is very memorable. "Moving Right Along" is very catchy and "I'm going to go back there someday" was very sweet with its somber existential lyrics. The Rainbow Connection is so emotional and it's insanely impressive how Jim Henson puppeteered Kermit with rubber glove inside a bolted vacuum sealed metal submersible container underwater, all so he could perform on a log. There are a ton of great celebrity cameos. The human cast share great chemistry & synergy with their Muppet co-stars. I love all the 4th wall breaks and visual puns. Kermit and Fozzy are so funny together. The movie has great pacing. I loved the gag where Fozzie just gives the electric teeth mayhem the movie script so they can catch up. The final resolution in Hollywood feels rushed and unearned, but the rest of the movie is a comedy classic. See more Natasha R @MsNatasha Nov 22 This is easily one of my favorite movies of all time. "I'm Going to go Back There Someday" is a hauntingly beautiful song, it's seriously under rated. The dialogue, plot, music, and character development; everything is gold. GOLD.
