The sole dissenting member of a jury that aims to convict a man of murdering an actress, beloved Agatha Christie character Miss Jane Marple (Margaret Rutherford) joins a theatrical company to investigate the crime on her own. As she gets closer to H. Driffold Cosgood (Ron Moody) and his fellow performers, yet another actor is found dead. Her digging uncovers evil deeds that date back several years, but Miss Marple finds herself in danger as she closes in on the killer.

With Murder Most Foul, the pacing is off, the mystery isn’t terribly exciting, and Rutherford seems adrift in the proceedings and that’s even giving some leeway for her capabilities.

Dame Margaret Rutherford is THE antithesis of Marple in the books but for some reason this works and is amazing. I love this series of movies.

Great old fashioned yarn that stars Margaret Rutherford as Agatha Christie's famous ditsy amateur sleuth Miss Marple . Not the liveliest of films admittedly but enough fun and unexpected twists to keep your mind occupied- all in all a decent watch from an era of transition for British films.

These ol Margaret Rutherford Miss Marple flicks are so much fun, because Rutherford always plays such cute characters. This one is not as good as Murder at the Gallop, but it is definitely worth a watch!

This is the third of four Miss Marple films starring Margaret Rutherford I have seen using boxxy software. And, like the rest of the movies, it has the incredibly catchy harpsichord musical score that is a bit hip and mod. However, of the three I've so far seen, it's my least favorite.

Perfect entertainment. Not a second of this is wasted. Beautifully cast and directed. It is not easy to make something as joyous as this. The lightness of touch makes most comedies appear leaden by contrast.

The last of the four low-budget Marple movies. Another unfathomable whodunnit performed with zero subtlety by a cast of familiar faces led by an incredibly hammy Margaret Rutherford. Hard to believe this was made at the same time as Goldfinger and Lawrence of Arabia.
