Saw this movie in 71 when it came out at the cinema and I still remember it like yesterday when writing this review some 50 years later. Great script and story. One man against unbelievable odds - never say die attitude. Peter O'Toole gives a strong, engaging, gritty performance. If you can find it - see it.

This is a great Movie. It has a well written story and some very good acting. The revenge aspect of the plot, and the madness it forms in the main character, make for some awesome cinema. It might not be a hipsters cup of tea, but it is a good movie for action and war movie fans. The end is certainly one of the most memorable moments in movie history. Peter O'Toole delivers one of his most iconic roles ever, though it has been somewhat forgotten by the mainstream over the years.
