Federico Furzan Movie-Blogger.com Music for Mushrooms does not represent a universal way of thinking. But it’s yet another piece that will convince you to seek the answers in art as abstract as psychedelic music. Rated: 3.5/5 Sep 24, 2024 Full Review Tony Asankomah GhMovieFreak It’s an eye-opening documentary that sparks important conversations about psychedelic therapy, art, and healing. While it may not convert everyone into a believer, it certainly provides food for thought in a world hungry for answers. Robert I Inspiring, beautiful and hopeful. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 09/20/24 Full Review Audience Member Very clean and smooth looking documentary with obviously great sound. Some interesting stories that unfortunately weren't delved into. It's pretty much literally about the music. But even then it doesn't go very deep. I was very excited and ready for this but as someone who has done much research and watched about all you can on mushrooms, music and mushrooms etc it didn't really go anywhere. For someone new Im sure it is amazing. But if you're into this it was..idk I don't want to disparage it. I wanted to love it, wanted to give it 5 stars. But it's very known music has a STRONG influence on trips. With all their knowledge and tech I thought they'd dive into the science or at least deeper into the interesting stories. Especially the ex gang banger as I grew up around that and also went through change. A very long documentary that could of been much shorter. TLDR: the doc has a dope vibe but it's missing substance. It's basically like someone saying "music is amazing. Music is even more amazing for psychedelics. They've used music for thousands of years. Here's a snippet of some stories. Dope music plays. The end. But it goes on for what feels like forever--never good to be a quarter of the way in and think "man, there's more??" Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 04/01/25 Full Review Andria A My husband and I knew nothing in advance about this topic. We learned quite a bit but it’s more an immersive experience than an informational one. Beautiful images along with ephemeral music that matches well. High production values. For a watcher with a background in mushrooms, it may be very meaningful. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 03/28/25 Full Review Eddie S An absolutely beautiful film that demonstrates the power of healing and connection through music while also showing the great potential of plant medicine. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 03/20/25 Full Review Pilisa R I really enjoyed the reality of the movie along with the moving soundtrack. The music felt beautifully in tune with the movie and highlighted the journeys that were documented. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 03/12/25 Full Review Aaron M There aren't many documentaries that can encompass the energy and feeling that is created with plant medicine. There is so much beauty in this film and the vulnerability of everyone involved was so powerful. A huge thank you to Krishna and Radha for being so open and sharing aspects of their lives that highlight the strength and potential of mushrooms. The sincerity they have and the willingness to devote their lives to this cause is so commendable. But, we are all needed to spread the message. In addition, East Forest is dialed into the music and I can attest that there is power in the music alone. However, in combination with mushrooms it is an indescribable experience. Please take time to watch this movie. There was so much love put into it. Also, if you haven't already, follow East Forest. He is such a strong voice for this movement and is constantly working to put out new material. His new album on Spotify, Lovingly, is a six hour opportunity to dive within yourself while listening. "The way out is in" as he would say. Thank you again to everyone involved in this project. It has had such an impact on my life. Much love.
