Audience Member Virginie Despentes has been pushing the boundaries of cinema for some time. Her 2000 film, "Baise-moi" managed to even push past The French Extreme. With this documentary she attempts to explore the Post-Porn / Cis-Porn concepts, ideologies and Post-Feminist positive sex movement. Had she exorcised a more focused job of editing this could have been a successful documentary. Sadly Despentes is so eager to highlight so many voices that it all starts to fragmentally repeat itself. "Mutantes" should not be dismissed as it offers some great articulation of Post-Feminist ideas. The first hour is of interest. The last half hour requires a bit too much to remain interesting. So not a great documentary but filled with solid expression of ideas. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 02/22/23 Full Review Read all reviews
