After the death of his parents, Jimmy (Neil Patrick Harris) uproots his life to live with his grandparents in Black Hawk, Neb. It's there he meets his grandparents' neighbors, the Shimerdas, an immigrant family from Bohemia. He's particularly fascinated with Antonia (Elina Lowensohn), the Shimerdas' daughter, a free spirit a few years older than Jimmy, though she seems infinitely wiser. The Shimerdas are struggling, too, which helps create a bond between the two fast friends.

Synopsis After the death of his parents, Jimmy (Neil Patrick Harris) uproots his life to live with his grandparents in Black Hawk, Neb.
