Warm, sensitive, and anchored by Elisabeth Martínez, this reimagining of Mi querida señorita updates the original with honesty and heart, even if its need to explain everything weakens its emotional subtlety. Go to Full Review

The film doesn't achieve the impact or subtlety of the original, but it does leave a rather revealing feeling: that society hasn't changed as much as we'd like to think when it comes to real inclusion...[Full review in Spanish] Go to Full Review

Netflix’s My Dearest Señorita reimagines a classic with a heartfelt story about identity, love, and self-discovery, led by a deeply moving central performance. Go to Full Review

This melodramatic message film gets a little too didactic, but its heart is in the right place and the cast lifts it up. Go to Full Review

It's a failed attempt that shows promise but doesn't fully realize its potential, though it does manage to be a feel-good movie that brings a smile to your face. [Full review in Spanish] Go to Full Review

Nicolas J @RT04474315 1d Lured by the smell of good Spanish Cinema. Not the case. Netflix fodder. See more Bill T. @btreakle 4d “My Dearest Senorita “ This was the story of both love and tragedy and betrayal and abuse and understanding. A story about a young person seeking their true identity as to who they are and to recover from medical procedures that were done as a child. I would like to say that this is a movie about coming of age in some ways it was and in other ways it’s a movie of self-awareness and understanding your own personal body and experience. All in all I thought it was a a good movie. See more Marian A @RT59407176 May 11 This is a perfect movie. Much needed. This is a reality. And I loved the sincerity of it. Totally recommended. See more Marion M @RT62595453 May 8 If you like a good, thoughtful, movie and this one unveils the hearts, minds and core complexities of todays non-heterosexually lives - this is a good movie. There are surprisingly reassuring, adept levels of communication. Who is on our side? The movie brims with vital and vibrant characters. Personally, I appreciated the protagonists perpective storyline. Handsomly directed and cinematographically agile, it takes a look at a seamy underworld where neither traditional Catholic society or alternative sexual lifestyles are glorified. Alongside each other we see a 'position' and 'choices'. The mechanisms by which we might all understand and care about each other straddle the frustrations of differing realities. The quintessential pulse of ordinary peoples lives, rolled off the screen for me. The more sensual scenes were handled well and I failed to see how anyone could be offended by any scene. It might have been better but it was certainly very good! The acting was very good. See more Read all reviews
