Brad W @BradPasta 6d The best part of this movie is that they actually filmed the winter-time scenes during winter. There was real snow and ice and people looked cold. Full credit for proper scenery. Every thing else was pretty poor. The acting was fine. But the story was absolutely awful. There was no humor, no drama, and so much time spent in maudlin mourning, it felt like a bad afternoon with too much wine. The settings for every site seemed wrong. The hardware store looked like a Hallmark store, the retired Army vet's home that was big enough for a family of 8 and the remote secret military site in the snowy mountains that looked like a closed down ski resort from the 1970s. These sets gave the movie the wrong feel. But did I mention the story? It was plodding, took mild turns that seemed intended to be emotionally intense rather than gentle bumps. Skip it. Whatever story they tried to tell was simply not real. A cheaply done typical Hallmark movie with unrealistic scenes, such as the Army flying the female lead to a remote base at Christmas. Kayla Wallace and Kevin McGarry married in real life do a decent job with this bad production. My advise, find a better movie to watch. See more Read all reviews
