Leslie Felperin Radio Times This instalment has all the sly wit and fine character development -- once again effervescent Pinkie Pie steals the show -- that die-hard devotees treasure so much. Rated: 4/5 Dec 21, 2017 Full Review Jake Wilson The Age (Australia) ... its sugary surface the film offers itself as a guide for little girls on how to navigate the world that lies before them, stressing the need for female solidarity above all. Rated: 3/5 Nov 3, 2017 Full Review Tara Brady Irish Times Daniel Ingram's big, Broadway musical numbers are epically-produced toe-tappers. The background designs are Ghibli-inspired excellent. And Emily Blunt couldn't invest Tempest with more tragedy and effort if she was doing an Ibsen play. Rated: 3/5 Oct 23, 2017 Full Review Dana Sloane Mediaversity Reviews Given that the story centers on toy pony princesses with magical abilities, My Little Pony: The Movie contains multitudes to unpack. Rated: B Oct 8, 2021 Full Review Leigh Monson Substream Magazine A pretty shallow experience, which is functionally fine for distracting a small child for over an hour but somewhat disappointing for adults and fans hoping to get something out of the experience too. Rated: 2.5/5 Oct 1, 2020 Full Review Richard Propes TheIndependentCritic.com There's nothing here meant to be taken seriously and there's simply nothing here that can be taken seriously. PMZ T Every thing in this movie is perfect and it's make me happy ,I have return to watch this movie for hundred times. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 09/28/24 Full Review Christian V This movie does not give an actual lesson or give young viewers a positive note, but rather then just a lousy and bad entertainment for the my little pony fans. All it does was trying to do something right, but always back fire ever single time the mane 6 mess things up, especially Twilight Sparkle. To top of all that this is a Canon fiction which relate to the tv show’s story in which is not a good idea of those writers were thinking in making of this lazy appeal to the fans. Finally, I’m not a fan of this show Gets the wrong idea about the ponies empathy and sorry for themselves Every pony in this awful show and movie it is not contract the great feelings or the Righteous thing to do about the situation we’re everything is just alright for them and they don’t care about more serious tone about what’s ever going to happen to the characters into a not so happy place. That is all. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 09/27/24 Full Review Nikola K I personally really enjoyed the movie when it first came out, i still enjoy it today too. I adored the animation, the story was decent, the voice acting was pretty good (at least in my language) and the characters were decent as well. From the non-pony ,my favourite one was probably Capper or Celaeno. From the pony characters it was of course Pinkie Pie and Rainbow Dash. I liked Tempest Shadow, i felt bad for her but her real name kinda thrown me off, thats just a me thing tho. I didnt like the storm king, i mean duh, hes a villain but even if he wasnt,i would not like him. His design feels kinda meh, his whole character throws me off. I also loved Skystar and queen Novo. Both their seapony form and their normal hippogriff form were amazing in my opinion. Its definetly worth a watch. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 06/07/24 Full Review Sebastian M so amazing. the mane 6 going through the parts of equestria that we don't see in the show was amazing. everything was amazing. also i have nostalgia of watching this on Kodi. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 04/07/24 Full Review Noe G My Little Pony the movie from 2017 is my number 1 best animated film from 2017 I give this film a 10/10 Rated 5 out of 5 stars 04/06/24 Full Review Liam C It's pretty good! The animation style definitely took some getting used to, but with all the original VA's and cast, it wasn't that hard of a jump. I do find it odd they shoved as many big names celebrities into the film as possible, but I guess that's just show bizz. Tempest was a great villain, way more menacing than any prior MLP villain before or since, except maybe Tirek. The music (which there is a LOT of,) is just fantastic, the visuals are bright and colorful, the story flows pretty good and the world is heavily expanded on. I feel like having the MLP movie be smack in the middle of the TV series could be a bit confusing however. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 03/27/24 Full Review Read all reviews
