During the American Civil War, five northern prisoners of war make the decision to escape the war by hijacking a hot air balloon. Drifting through the night, they wake to find themselves marooned on a desert island, but they aren't alone.

I love Jules Verne novels, movies, remakes. This is one of the worst ever done. The special effects are not special. For a movie made in 2010, the effects and makeup are about 1970. The acting is worse than a TV Hallmark movie. Everyone insists on a dramatic pause after every line....it's humorless, unimaginitive, and a downright SHAME. Turns Jules Verne's story into garbage. Pathetic. One star for effort.
