Fernando F. Croce Slant Magazine offers a vision of survival at its starkest, boiled down to physical endurance, reflexes, and the desperate need to keep ahead of the foe snapping at your heels. Rated: 3.5/5 Oct 31, 2018 Full Review Chris Buckle The Skinny Cornel Wilde impresses on both sides of the camera, giving a committed, physical performance in the lead and keeping the action lean and relentless as director Rated: 4/5 Nov 4, 2015 Full Review Ken Hanke Mountain Xpress (Asheville, NC) Taken as a lively adventure yarn, it's enjoyable, but the claims that there's more to it than that ring a little hollow. Vic M Saw this movie when I was a teenager. The movie is incredible in so many ways. A must see! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 05/31/23 Full Review Audience Member In Cornel Wilde's eight-film directorial filmography, The Naked Prey leads the pack, bursting onto mid-decade cinema screens with its savage (certainly for the time, if not also today) moments of torture, killing, animal death (sourced from jungle stock footage, but real death nonetheless), and even an arterial spray or two. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 02/27/23 Full Review Audience Member What I especially liked about this movie is that an outnumbered white man gets the best of his African pursuers at every turn. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 01/25/23 Full Review Audience Member Well done, but brutal in its depiction of torture for the unlucky party. Cornel Wilde is great in this film. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 01/15/23 Full Review delysid d i loved this movie, reminded me alot of ZULU Rated 5 out of 5 stars 06/23/18 Full Review Audience Member Some rich men are someplace in Africa hunting for Ivory. They shoot some elephants and they drink. One of the guys paid for it so he wants the trip to be excactly as he wants it to be. The guy that makes arrangements and controlls it, known as The Man, is not liking his attitude as he drinks, kills elephants without ivory for fun and disrespect the tribe they are out hunting with. As a result the tribe kills the entire gang of white men. Well, accept from The Man that are made to run out into the wild, naked and unarmed. The hunt is on. We see The Man defend himself from the guys after him. He hides, eats, run - well, he survives. He's quite good at it too. Exciting, pretty minimalistic but highly entertaining. I don't like the animal cruelty and some racial stuff, but the film is something of it's own and a very fresh film. Made over 50 years ago and it couldnt been done better today. Great film. 8 out of 10 naked runners. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 01/17/23 Full Review Read all reviews
