03/03/2019 The imagery shows how close to nature people live in these small Thai villages, with realistic special effects, including characters chewing on red vegetables. As a Buddhist folk tale, this story shows the psychological, or spiritual, hazards of hanging on. If you can get past the gold wedding band that probably is the value of ten villages of that size and everyone's gorgeous hair, it's an interesting film. See more 01/20/2019 This was a good movie, especially considering its based on the true story (folklore) of Mae Nak Phra Khanong. It gets a bit confusing at first but then clears itself up when his friend comes to tell Mak that he's living with ghosts. From there on out its a straightforward movie. What's also fun is seeing how another culture/religion (Buddhism) deals with ghosts. The acting and direction are good, the cinematography is amazing.
