Q.V. Hough Vague Visages Bargatze delivers a strong one-hour set in The Greatest Average American, even if he seems more interested in referencing his family and friends than owning the stage with original bits. Feb 18, 2022 Full Review Megan Basham WORLD Whether it's dealing with the stress of life under COVID or marital strife, we laugh at what we recognize. Bargatze's new pandemic special is just what the doctor ordered. Rated: 4/5 May 3, 2021 Full Review Garrett Martin Paste Magazine This hour is full of sharp observations and hilarious insights into regularly life, from what it's like to watch your parents age, to the depressing, lawless land that is a Chuck E. Cheese. Rated: 7.5/10 Mar 29, 2021 Full Review Daniel Hart Ready Steady Cut Nate Bargatze: The Greatest Average American is a strong stand-up and highlights the adaptability of the comedy industry in tough times. Rated: 3.5/5 Mar 23, 2021 Full Review Sean L. McCarthy Decider Bargatze may consider himself average, but we all know that if that's true, then he's also The Greatest Average American we've got. Daring L Funny special you can watch with everyone! Relatable humor that is not misogynistic or blue. After watching the hot dumpster fire that is Matt Rife, this is a comedic palate cleanser. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 11/19/23 Full Review Audience Member Deadpan humor at its finest. Also clean, if that matters to you. So hilarious Id recommend to anyone. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/22/23 Full Review ronald h Virtually all comedians (and all artists, for that matter) go through a peak period. I think Bargatze has already been through his. This show is OK, but not laugh out loud like his earlier stuff. He smiles a lot, which ruins the deadpan effect that made him so great to begin with. He is also talking faster than usual, like he had too much caffeine, which undermines the laid back delivery that we expect from him. Those not familiar with him should start with his earlier stuff: Yelled at By a Clown and Full Time Magic--and save this one for later. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 03/30/23 Full Review Audience Member The guy is just funny. His face says, "Dry humor" but his set says, "Funny"! I watched the other special right after this one. Give this guy a show or something. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/05/23 Full Review Audience Member I'm a fan and I like his comedy but this was pretty average humor. Few laughs here and there but Not his best work. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 02/07/23 Full Review Audience Member Hilarious as always, Mr. Bargatze.
