Audience Member poetic and bittersweet. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/25/23 Full Review Audience Member The movie info is not about Tengiz Abuladze's Wishing Tree. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/21/23 Full Review Audience Member Part ethnographic study and part poetry, Tengiz Abuladze's film is a rich and detailed depiction of a small town in the republic of Georgia, a strong critique against the mean-spirited human nature, and a beautiful chant dedicated to the true love and to those creatures who remain authentic against all odds. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/17/23 Full Review Audience Member more of a followable and relatable story than The Plea. basically the story of a group of villagers living in pre-Revolution Georgia. beautiful cinematography again--the scene at the end with Marita being taken out of town on the mule is incredibly unsettling. I feel like the values and standards shown in this film have a ton of relevance in contemporary America, which gives an added element of poignancy to an already beautifully and skillfully written script. romance, comedy, tragedy...a little bit of everything in this slice-of-life peasant film.
