michael d I enjoy Hallmark movies and I like Danielle Panabaker. but this was pretty hard to watch. I like that Hallmark often features strong, self sufficient, intelligent women who value love, family, friends, and their careers. But the women in this movie, on the other hand, come across as weak, insecure, neurotic and afraid to stand up for themselves when their husbands are way out of line until halfway through the movie. And the husbands couldn't be more clueless. One spineless Momma's Boy moves his mother into the home he shares with his wife (for the following 6 months to a year) without first running it by his new wife. Really?? And his mother is an overbearing caricature with absolutely no boundaries. And she's positively insulting to the wife and literally tells her that she "hates" her. Another husband demands children before his wife is ready (a conversation they probably should have had before they got married). He then TELLS his wife she can't work because he makes enough money for both of them, even though his wife wants a fulfilling job at a museum. The third husband "fixed" 2 faucet handles by replacing them with a couple of big locking pliers. And he somehow thought it was OK to hire his beautiful high school girlfriend (who broke his heart after 3 YEARS TOGETHER) even though he knew she "tortured" his wife in high school. And then the wife finds them together at a hotel in bathing suits a few days after learning they had dinner together (although he did bring some leftovers home to his wife). And the women all decide not to share Very Big News with their husbands about the legal status of their respective marriages for a full week. One gets a dog without telling her husband or discussing it with him. Another decides to tell her mother in law that she can't even spend one night in the house that she helped them buy, again without discussing it with her husband first. Then later she decides to pay for an 8 month hotel stay (??!) for the mother in law. And the third wife let's her husband's old girlfriend walk all over her. But there was a surprising resolution for one wife that pleased me (Fluffy's mom). Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 03/31/23 Full Review Audience Member Sweet story with the expected happy ending. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 01/13/23 Full Review Audience Member If all you want is a cute romantic comedy with little surprises along the way it works out. You know what's going to happen because it fits the romantic comedy mold to a T. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 02/23/23 Full Review Audience Member So amazingly bad, but entertainingly bad, like The Room and films like that lol. It's so horrifically terrible that you just need to keep watching to see what awfulness happens next. At least some of the acting's pretty good. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 02/26/23 Full Review Audience Member Nearlyweds was actually a really comfortable and feel-good movie to watch. The characters were interesting and the storyline was rather plain but still quite enjoyable. This movie made you feel good and better about yourself despite the troubles that this movie includes. It was without a doubt an entertaining movie about marriage and life and the obstacles that can come of it. I enjoyed it and it pulled me in until the very end. It's a feel-good movie that won't disappoint! Rated 3 out of 5 stars 02/18/23 Full Review Read all reviews Post a rating
