Jerrold M The sound man bites it's hard to listen to because the lead woman mumbles, she's British the mumbling cannot be understood and it's never understood why the character she brings with her needed to go with her, & how would the Columbians know who he was other than she was with him because he merely took her picture! Rated 2 out of 5 stars 10/05/24 Full Review Audience Member Spoilers: The meet is not so cute and is of dubious belief. But movies do require suspension of disbelief. So let's just say she is so concerned that someone might see his photo print and negative of her that they would locate her for the bad guys looking to kill her. And let's just say she cared enough about him to lug him along to really protect him from being killed, too, this MI6 British spy trying to get out of the spy game that she complicated by making side deals with Colombian drug dealers on her way out. Maybe not that far-fetched if she did start as a pip-pip cheerio public servant of the queen and her subjects, actually trying to do good and protect people. Katia as Natalie is spot-on in her focused ability to use and abuse and condescend to the layman Yank photographer. But he is not bland and is personable to challenge this and that, as Quarterman is also spot-on in eliciting our sympathy for a talkative everyman who would even try to protect a stranger woman from being abused by her beau. Natalie goes to great lengths, out of state, to protect them both but does let him leave if he wants, with the caveat that the baddies are close and will surely kill him; so he stays with her. Her former partner, whom she thought might help them in Phoenix, turns out to be trying to kill her himself for MI6. And she and photog Hollis team to beat the 2 Colombian hitpersons who caught up to them. The two get a little personal about their lives while on the road, and the dialog is snappy and funny, she an aficionado of old TV comedies such as the I Love Lucy episode on Vitaveetavegamin. When they finally part after surviving the hits, they wish each other well, he back to his photography, she to a new country and identity to stay alive. As he drives away, he stops, and just breaks down crying. Was it because of the extraordinary ordeal he had just endured? Or was he starting to miss her? The former, but we have just that bit of doubt, and think it might have been the latter. Swede Katia Winter is yet another fine actress for me to think about, time to time. And this is just another of a million modest but well-written and acted indies, the kind to keep looking for if you like good movies. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 02/07/23 Full Review Audience Member Negative is a rare treat. It is a limited budget Indie action film that has the look, feel, and heartfelt acting of a high-quality big budget movie. Katia Winter gives Academy Award worthy performance. Would be terrific to see on the big screen. No spoilers. Just sit back and enjoy as the story unfolds. Would rate 6 Stars if possible. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/20/23 Full Review Audience Member Plot and writing are awful. You find yourself not caring about the characters because the story is so bad. Women 30-45 will love it because it has a strong female lead who beats up men and takes what she wants. Everyone else will eye-roll into another dimension. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 01/30/23 Full Review Audience Member A minimalist thriller set primarily in a rather bleak desert setting, it puts one in mind of that John Hurt assassin film of twenty years ago.
