Glenn Kenny RogerEbert.com If you’re a “they don’t make ‘em like they used to” type when it comes to genre, do have a look at this. It’ll very likely hit an old-school sweet (or sour) spot or two. Rated: 3/4 Apr 25, 2025 Full Review Tim Brennan About Boulder For me, the film’s low key charm and unfussy direction makes it an understated hit. May 5, 2025 Full Review Ben Gibbons Screen Rant Neighborhood Watch is a sweet story about a young man who finds acceptance packaged in a thrilling crime drama. Rated: 7/10 May 5, 2025 Full Review Christie Cronan Common Sense Media Disorganized and chaotic, this movie is still ultimately lucid enough to offer a worthy, nuanced twist on the typical psychological thriller. Apr 30, 2025 Full Review Robert Kojder Flickering Myth There is enough to director Duncan Skiles’s Neighborhood Watch to suggest that its conversations around mentally ill individuals are well-meaning. However, it also falls into that trap of uncomfortably playing beats for laughs Rated: 2.5/5 Apr 29, 2025 Full Review Casey Chong Casey's Movie Mania Jack Quaid and Jeffrey Dean Morgan's mismatched dynamic can't do much to overcome this prosaic crime thriller. Audience Member There's sweetness and laughter in the authenticity with which the film's relevant themes are presented. It immerses us in mental illness, rejection, and the lack of empathy within society. It's a film that, despite its simplicity, manages to capture moments of great tension and anxiety with accurate direction and without great fanfare. A proposal anchored in the idea of human connection and what it means to do the right thing in the face of paralyzing doubt, which transforms into a charismatic portrait of its protagonists, inviting you to spend some quality time in front of the screen with a film that truly becomes your best companion in that moment. It doesn't pretend to be anything more than what it offers, and with that, it's more than enough to capture your attention and also your charm. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 05/06/25 Full Review B P Strong Characters Make Up for a Slow Narrative. ‘Neighborhood Watch’ ultimately succeeds thanks to two very capable leads. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 05/05/25 Full Review Farah R Morgan and Quaid make a charming duo in this quirky crime comedy. Neighborhood Watch constantly juggles drama and comedy as it tells it’s intriguing story, and while it’s entertaining for the most part, it can get boring when it’s too slow. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 05/05/25 Full Review Jeremy W Has a kind of charm that makes you forgive the slow pacing and instead appreciate the short, unlikely and simple story that comes together nicely in the end Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 05/05/25 Full Review Troy R Good acting, good comedy, decent bit of mystery, and some heartwarming moments to tie it all together. While it certainly wasn't a new story, it was enhanced by the possibility of anything you are watching not being the real story. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 05/04/25 Full Review Frank H Perfect balance of suspense and heart-warming character development, with an additional hook that, as the movie begins, you don’t particularly like either main character. But a young man with mental health issues and an old man who is bitter at the world for his missed opportunities combine efforts to save an unknown trafficking victim—in the end, save each other. Just the right mix of humor, next-door-neighbor-turned-Sherlock-Holmes and good movie-making . Rated 5 out of 5 stars 05/03/25 Full Review Read all reviews
