Audience Member Efron’s raunchy era overlaps Rogen’s aging adult era. A coming-of-age college film for viewers who grew up with “Superbad”, it is a fun one-time watch, but lacks lasting relevance. It has a slight nostalgia factor for viewers who were in college during the early 2010s, along with some solid impersonation bits, but ultimately, it’s one of Rogen’s run-of-the-mill pure comedies. The premise of young parents fighting with a frat and the realization that they might be aging into a new chapter in their lives, is both intriguing and timeless. It’s a potentially interesting rewatch for viewers who were closer to Efron’s character at the time of this film’s release and now find themselves as a parent like Rogen’s character, but it likely has too many time-specific references that may not resonate with future audiences.
