Xuanlin Tham Little White Lies A refreshingly feel-bad watch, Neon Spring seems so opposed to the principles of a coming-of-age film that it almost ceases to be one. Aug 23, 2022 Full Review Tim Grierson Screen International Kaza travels familiar terrain, avoiding melodramatic flourishes and cautionary-tale handwringing, and yet the film ends up being so muted that the story can’t quite distinguish itself among the many entries in this well-worn genre. Aug 18, 2022 Full Review Joshua Polanski Boston Hassle It’s my favorite use of sound design in a 2022 film. Jul 9, 2024 Full Review Laurence Boyce Cineuropa As a coming-of-age tale, it's something of a well-worn cinematic (and cultural) genre. Many of the clichés of the genre are out in full force in Neon Spring, its knowledge about said clichés make this an often intriguing film. Rated: 3/4 Aug 23, 2022 Full Review Read all reviews
