DMX's menacing charisma is put to good use in this stylish but hackneyed modern-day noir.

Herbert M Critics panned this movie because most of them are probably from a very sheltered, suburban type experience and the negative reception snowballed once the new York Times sounded the death knell. Roger Ebert, who is sorely missed and passed the baton to Roeper, was the only true movie critic in my opinion and naturally, despite not being of the same life experiences, saw this movie for the true crime drama, street noir that this film was and was one of the only ones who gave it the accolade it deserves. DMX basically plays a different flavour of himself, so if you missed out on how he formed part of the culture, you'll want to watch this film. Watching this movie today for the umpteenth time, I was curious how this movie was received in the broader culture as I had never bothered, it being one of my all time favourite films and it did not shock me how this heavy in the belly, gritty drama wad not as widely praised. But if you love cinema, this was one of the last movies of an era where movies were exciting, took risks and this one pays off. So, enjoy this hidden gem as movies like it are almost impossible to come by. You may just need to watch an Avengers movie to wash the grit out your brain. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 09/01/23 Full Review Audience Member Nothing really enjoyable alone here, just junkie with guns, bullets & lots of bad words... Rated 3 out of 5 stars 02/03/23 Full Review Audience Member Not a bad little movie here...I liked how they set the film up and it had an edgy half decent story to go with it Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 02/13/23 Full Review Audience Member Okay, well first off let me start by saying this, Never Die Alone was freaking awesome! I rarely give movies a perfect five out of five but this movie gets it! Critics oh critics, if you'd only put down your Crystal Meth for a moment you'd realize true brilliance when it stares you in your worthless face. Anyway, where do I even start? Well, stellar performance by DMX! Anyone who can play a role and play it so well that you actually start to hate the character that's being portrayed has nailed that part down to its fullest! For example, Jack Nicholson in The Shining, Laurence Fishburne as Ike Turner in What's Love Got To Do With It, and Danny Glover as Mister in The Color Purple. Feel me? That type of brilliance! I mean DMX really makes you feel the hurt that he's inflicting on others! The epitome of a mothers worst nightmare! I won't say too much more about that, don't want to spoil it for you. Second, the plot! Steamy, vengeful, sexy, greedy, money, and suspenseful! Oh, and I almost forgot, the ending! This movie's got a crazy unforeseeable ending with a twist that's going to mess you the helicopter up! Yeah I meant to say that. Anyway, that's all I'm going to divulge about the specifics, fasten up your seat belts, and let's get ready for the ride! LET'S GO! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/13/23 Full Review Audience Member Bad movie. Its plot is generic, unoriginal and boring, its timeline is confusing and mundane, its direction is mediocre. The only real thing it has going for it is the performances, and even those need work. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 01/23/23 Full Review Audience Member Rather boring and uneventful. Never really got above 1st gear and just seemed to drag on and on. Can't believe it was 1h22m, it felt more like an eternity.
