Two young guys heading to LA have a collision with an LA girl heading for NY. The cars are damaged beyond their ability to repair them, so they are stuck in the desert. A friendship slowly develops. Nice cameos by Nicolas Cage, Gilbert Gottfried, Charlie Sheen, Judd Nelson, Emilio Estevez and Cary Elwes, all uncredited. Good effort, but not quite there as a good movie.
