Never Sleep Again, though both funny and frightening, is ultimately a touching journey through the Elm Street mythology.

For a four-hour film, it sure does fly by, and you certainly won't be snoozing during it.

Never Sleep Again won't be winning any awards as the kind of documentary that changes and rearranges the genre. Instead, it is a wildly informative summary of a seminal horror icon - and the people who populated his dark, disturbing dreamscapes.

Uma aventura eletrizante pelo legado de um dos maiores vilões da história do cinema. Wes Craven criou uma história tão poderosa e criativa que, mesmo com o poder fora de suas mãos, ainda manteve a memória de Freddy Krueger viva por décadas.

My god I did not think that this movie would be flipping 3 hours. I thought it was going to be maybe an hour and 30 something minutes talking about the legacy of all the nightmares not do a full fledge analysis of each movie. It's a little too much nightmare information for me. I'm not the biggest nightmare fan. I'm more of a Texas chainsaw guy or Friday but I still respect this franchise and love the first and new nightmare movies. This documentary peaked my interest into seeing Freddy vs Jason got me because I never saw the ads for it and this movie showed all the hype especially in Japan with the whole boxing thing between the two icons. I learned a lot about nightmare watching this and I can't wait to see what happens next in the nightmare on elm street franchise.

Three years since horror legend, Wes Craven passed. He made a massive impact on the horror genre and one of the all time greats. The terror will live on forever.
'Never Sleep Again: The Elm Street Legacy' is a fascinating documentary on the Elm Street movies. Don't let the four hour run time put you off, as it's an interesting watch. While the interviews themselves are a bit over the top, like the actors and directors think their made/starred in high art movies. Although you can tell a lot of love and care went into these, even the terrible ones.
Also, it's funny hearing Renny Harlin, director of 'A Nightmare on Elm Street 4: The Dream Master', say every decision he made was "pure genius" while showing the most absurd shots clips from the film.
