Kat Hughes THN One for the ‘Fred Head’ in your life, Never Sleep Again is an informative deep-dive into a franchise of nightmares. Rated: 4/5 Feb 15, 2023 Full Review Eddie Harrison film-authority.com …Freddy fans will relish this, but even for the non-adherent, there’s plenty of juicy Elm Street gossip here to keep you awake at night… Rated: 3/5 Feb 4, 2023 Full Review David Harris Spectrum Culture Never Sleep Again, though both funny and frightening, is ultimately a touching journey through the Elm Street mythology. Oct 28, 2019 Full Review Martin Unsworth Starburst For a four-hour film, it sure does fly by, and you certainly won't be snoozing during it. Rated: 9/10 Jan 16, 2017 Full Review Bill Gibron PopMatters Never Sleep Again won't be winning any awards as the kind of documentary that changes and rearranges the genre. Instead, it is a wildly informative summary of a seminal horror icon - and the people who populated his dark, disturbing dreamscapes. Rated: 8/10 Dec 29, 2016 Full Review Scott Weinberg FEARnet It's almost like something Ken Burns would make if he were a huge horror geek. Rated: 4/5 Jan 9, 2011 Full Review Read all reviews

Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/15/23 Full Review MARCO C yeah pretty much best documentary ever Rated 5 out of 5 stars 03/14/21 Full Review Audience Member My god I did not think that this movie would be flipping 3 hours. I thought it was going to be maybe an hour and 30 something minutes talking about the legacy of all the nightmares not do a full fledge analysis of each movie. It's a little too much nightmare information for me. I'm not the biggest nightmare fan. I'm more of a Texas chainsaw guy or Friday but I still respect this franchise and love the first and new nightmare movies. This documentary peaked my interest into seeing Freddy vs Jason got me because I never saw the ads for it and this movie showed all the hype especially in Japan with the whole boxing thing between the two icons. I learned a lot about nightmare watching this and I can't wait to see what happens next in the nightmare on elm street franchise. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 10/29/20 Full Review andrew k A comprehensive and lengthy behind-the-scenes walk through one of the most iconic horror franchises of all time. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 03/31/23 Full Review johnathon w Superb documentary on the "Nightmare on Elm Street" franchise, covering every movie (except the remake, which is a good thing) and even the TV series. The filmmakers do a great job getting as many of the actors & crew who involved, who are as candid as possible. Wes Craven is especially great, explaining where he got the idea and his views on the other movies that didn't involve him (let's say he's not a fan of a few of them). You can tell the makers are fans of the series, but honest about it's faults as well (as shown in the commentary track), and nevertheless give a great 'warts & all' look at one of the great horror franchises of all time. The one caveat is that at nearly 4 hours, still is not a documentary for someone new to the series. However, if you are a fan, this is a must watch, as it tells you everything you wanted to know (and not know) about this classic franchise.
