John U @Wolfiegang Dec 29 This film is treasure chest for a child’s imagination. At least it was for me. Maybe adults who see this for the first time cannot connect to it? But seeing this as a kid inspired so many ideas and feelings that brought pure joy to my upbringing. It felt like having the coolest and most interesting best friend a child could meet. It was rebellious fun that always had a deeper lesson to value. While kids dream to live in a world without rules, the importance of family, manners and education shine through. It dares kids to dream, imagine and explore. I admit the adults are made out to be pretty ridiculous. Most kids content does. However, the film tackles very dark and real themes which Pippi propels through with bravery and innocence. The film is timeless and the songs will have kids hooked after the first watch. Knowing this film and how it affected me, I would feel robbed of its treasures had I never been exposed to it. See more Star_Skaterr 12/14/2024 Once again the "official" critics prove they're everything but. You can't deny that this movie is entertaining in such a nostalgic way. It's got it's flaws, sure, but the story is truly inspiring-- inspiring kids to follow their dreams, like a 1988 kid's movie SHOULD do. Great memories to be remembered forever.
