A gang of techno-thieves, led by Kurt Bishop (Andrew McCarthy), robs a number of Silicon Valley software companies, getting away with expensive computers and other equipment. David Marx (Rutger Hauer), a world-weary police detective, is assigned to the case. The only problem is that Marx doesn't know a thing about computers. His partner, Kris Paddock (Tara Fitzgerald), though, is computer-savvy and cracks the case. However, the thieves kidnap her, and Marx will do anything to free her.
