Logan D Wealthy and entitled dinner guests gorge on succulent and rare delights. Hilariously dark and quirky bit of speculative fiction. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 03/31/25 Full Review prawnda s its well produced, and i can agree with it's message, but it's not anything special or original. the rich people eat too many endangered species and keep breaking the floor beneath their dinner table because they are so heavy. that's about it. as short films go, this was fine, and it was a decent way to spend 10 minutes, but i wouldnt recommend it to anyone. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 03/09/25 Full Review Julian Rex M Immensely symbolic while consistently dread-inducing, Next Floor manages to impressively couple bold questions with startling imagery to create a shockingly fulfilling sample of Denis Villeneuve's grand filmography. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 02/16/25 Full Review Petros T The production design is really good and, along with the sound design and acting, solidifies the depiction of disturbingly gluttonous excess that is at the heart of the film, the almost complete lack of dialogue doesn't alienate, and the satirical humour fits the apt sociopolitical messaging. On the downside, "Next Floor" holds few surprises - it's apparent early on what it is all about, and after that point it simply plays out as expected, with not much more to hang on apart from the obvious. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 06/09/23 Full Review Audience Member This is a fascinating and disturbing short film from Denis Villeneuve that showed his talent early on. Worth watching for fans. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 02/06/23 Full Review Audience Member Fat pigs, insatiable appetites, greedy, over indulged, pampered, avaricious, hoarding, gluttonous sloths dragged to Hell by the weight of their own sins. Unfortunately it has just this one idea to play on, which is hilarious the first time it occurs. It repeats on a loop like David Lynch's first animated film, playing on the old 'more of' trick until it reaches absurdity. That works for a lot of Americans today, who may find this film more welcoming than the French. I kind of lost interest, but appreciated the photography, momentum, and performances.
