Audience Member Not very good. The acting is bad and the camera work is done like a novice high schooler. Probably should've taken a little longer with the scripting, casting and rehersals. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 02/22/23 Full Review Audience Member To be honest I am surprised that this film has not been more successful or advertised more because it is full of star power and much more clever and fun than I thought it would be. Plot: Recently dumped by his actress girlfriend, Tom Murphy (Corin Nemec) is a struggling actor who is desperate to get a role in the new James Bond Flick starring Sean Connery and find a way to finance his friend Ben`s movie. The guys had a surefire plan: by getting Tom's famous girlfriend to star in their latest production, they were sure to get noticed by the Hollywood bigwigs. Trouble is, Tom has just been dumped, and as a result the film has lost its one shining star and their hopes of making it big in the industry are dashed. They resort to Plan B when Tom`s roommate Quebert (Jason Mewes) discovers that his `weed connect` Rocko (Michael DeLorenzo) has a briefcase full of stolen government marijuana. The friends hatch an elaborate plan to steal it and collect the reward money. Meanwhile Ben (David Faustino of Married with Children) has been saddled with babysitting his girlfriend`s brother Wendell (Jason Marsden) who is in a drooling, semi catatonic state as a result of a clinical drug trial gone wrong. What I liked: the satire behind the line ~I am a producer~ as a seemingly surefire way to pick up chicks and Jason Newes hitting on the girl at the bar. A Danny Trejo production and he also appears in the film. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 02/06/23 Full Review Audience Member If High Hopes is what you have for this movie, you're going to be disappointed. It's kind of funny to consider that the main characters rely on one famous person to make the movie they're working on successful, because this is a pretty bad movie that I only picked up because of the famous people in it. The script had some possibilities, as did the characters each of the actors played, but they're let down by some terrible editing and some awful supporting actors. A movie where Jason Mewes is playing a lazy, horny stoner should always be funny (statistically speaking), but there's only very few jokes you'll actually find enjoyable. The movie just feels horribly planned, each time you expect it to go somewhere nice it just falls flat. A really disappointing film, completely wastes the talent of the actors in it- maybe if you were actually stoned watching it you'd find it enjoyable. That'd make a lot of sense really, because when you see how horribly these ordinarily great actors made this film, you can't help wondering if all the pot they smoke in the film was real and the entire cast and crew was stoned the whole time. That's the only reasonable excuse they could have for making this movie so shitty. Sadface. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 02/26/23 Full Review Audience Member Not very good. The acting is bad and the camera work is done like a novice high schooler. Probably should've taken a little longer with the scripting, casting and rehersals. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 01/29/23 Full Review Audience Member Should have been better with the fantastic cast that it boast's but it just never seems to get going. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 01/15/23 Full Review Audience Member The cast is so fun to play with... it really makes you wish a better ride had been pimped for them. If you are into these fellas though, the inside jokes alone make it worth a viewing. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 01/15/23 Full Review Read all reviews
