Antoine T Une oeuvre qui vous transcende au travers de sa critique sur le surpresence des médias dans la vie des bouzeux et de la hausse du prix des croquettes pour chevaux. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 12/31/23 Full Review Audience Member http://letterboxd.com/zbender/film/nico-the-unicorn/ Nico the Unicorn to me is a rather uninteresting children's film that tries to grab the audience and whisk them into a more innocent time of childhood. There are several problems with this film pertaining to the adventure Nico and his boy owner Billy endure. 1. The story is not interesting. The dialogue is not intriguing or thought provoking. Obviously this is a kid's movie with a unicorn in it. Even as a kid movie, this film can't really keep the attention of a kid that well. 2. It is not an original story. We have seen a film like this before. Remember E.T.? Imagine that, but with a unicorn! The kid of course is the only one who does not want to exploit the innocence of a unicorn that never bothered anyone. Everyone else is driven by greed. 3. The resolution is nice, climax is a bore. The climax is drawn out and any steam that the film had is dragged down. 4. Miscellaneous reasons... The soundtrack with its child-like exuberance tries to drag you in, but won't do you well. Most if not all characters are stereotypes. Some scenes are just filler such as a dating scene. Overall this film just was not a satisfying experience and you will live a satisfying life already without having to watch this film. As I was watching, the film that was in my head that is equivalent in story, but is superior in quality is E.T. Probably should check that out instead.
